IRISH PERSON OF SPECIAL MERIT - AUGUIST 2018
The Board of Directors has elected to make a small change to the “Irish Person of the Month” program.
Instead of a monthly award it is now awarded only as individuals show outstanding special merit in the Irish community. This was done to give more significance to the recognition of the award!
The first person receiving this awarded has taking time to provide the club with a new meeting place for our monthly BOD meetings more centrally located. Since our BOD meeting are at 7 pm this involves him stay at work several hours longer. Most importantly he provides transportation for one of our beloved members to attend meetings and functions. Over the past years he has also donated his time to provide training for our members who attended shooting events at the Oil Capital Rod & Gun Club. Our club has enjoyed many gatherings organized and presented by him as he stands in the background insuring that everyone is satisfied. From Whiskey Tastings, annual Christmas Parties, Soda Bread contests and now our BOD meetings this individual is always there donating his time. For the most part these are things that are not really seen but make a big difference in the everyday scheme of others’ lives. Giving of one’s own time to benefit someone else is worthy of recognition.
The Irish American Club of Tulsa takes great pleasure in announcing that Mr. Tim Kennedy is the first to be named “Irish Person of Special Merit”. Please join us in congratulating Tim on this award and thanking him for all of the hours of his support to our club and the Irish community.
